Latest Update: First showcased at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show and initially went on sale in select international markets like the United States by mid-2019, Hyundai Motor India is gearing up to launch its Palisade SUV in India. This flagship Hyundai SUV is built on a new platform that embodies the brand’s premium aspirations in the three-row segment.
Since its initial launch, the model has undergone several updates to become even more premium and ideal family cars for its global customers. The Hyundai Palisade SUV is expected to launch in the Indian market by 2025, aiming to attract customers looking for feature-rich luxury SUVs with exceptional on-road presence.
Palisade SUV has a bold and upmarket design and features Hyundai’s parametric chrome grille in the front, vertically split headlamps, 20-inch alloy wheels, and pronounced wheel arches. On the rear profile, it houses clean lines and rectangular LED taillamps. Its boxy silhouette adds to its commanding road presence, particularly because of its larger size and upright stance.
Inside the cabin, it has a spacious seating arrangement for both seven and eight adult occupants. The automaker used soft-touch material for a premium feel, chrome accents, and leather upholstery. The integrated wide dual-display layout comprises a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen.
The Hyundai SUV also features a four-spoke steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a wireless phone charger. One of the interesting features is that Hyundai has offered second-row captain seats and power-adjustable third-row seats for maximum comfort on city commutes.
Regarding mechanical specifications, the upcoming Hyundai Palisade SUV gets a 3.8-liter Atkinson-cycle V6 petrol engine that can deliver up to 287 bhp and 355 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission and multi-plate torque converter. Since the SUV is available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options in international markets, it's likely to be available in the same configuration in India.
Price & Rivals
The Hyundai Palisade price in India would start from Rs 50,00,000 to Rs 60,00,000. The SUV will compete in India with the Skoda Kodiaq, the Toyota Fortuner, and the MG Gloster.
