Latest Update: Volkswagen Golf GTI pre-bookings in India started on May 5 for a token amount of Rs 2,65,370. However, within a few days of pre-booking, the first back of 150 India-bound Golf GTI was sold out, and the brand stopped receiving more orders for the model. Volkswagen has already confirmed that the Golf GTI will be available in limited numbers and bring it to India through the CBU route.
The upcoming Volkswagen Golf GTI is said to have an eliminated Volkswagen logo, signature red GTI accents, and X-shaped fog lights for a distinctive profile. The hot hatchback is also confirmed to have 18-inch Richmond diamond-cut alloy wheels and twin chrome exhausts. The automaker has confirmed that the Golf GTI will be offered in four color options: Oryx White, Kings Red, Grenadilla Black, and Moonstone Grey Black.
Inside the cabin, it will sport an all-black interior and an intuitive dashboard design for a premium feel. It will get sport bucket seats for exceptional passenger comfort. On the tech side, the hatchback is equipped with a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit pro, and a seven-speaker immersive sound system. The Golf GTI will offer wireless charging, IDA voice control and voice enhancer, and wired and wireless app connection features for better comfort and practicality.
The hatchback will have scalepaper plaid seats with red accents, 30-color ambient lighting, a leather-wrapped sports steering wheel with GTI badging, and a panoramic sunroof to make the interior even more pleasing. Customers can also expect three-zone climate control, rear AC vents with temperature control, and a keyless start function.
Volkswagen has confirmed to offer a comprehensive safety suite, including seven airbags, XDS electronic front differential lock, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, front assist, and rearview camera with park distance control.
The premium hatchback from Volkswagen gets a 2.0-liter TSI engine under the hood, delivering 265 horsepower and 370 Nm of peak torque. This engine configuration allows the Volkswagen Golf GTI to accelerate 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 250 km/h.
Price
The Volkswagen Golf GTI Price is not revealed but it is expected to be priced between Rs 50 lakhs to Rs 55 lakhs. After launching in the Indian automobile market, it will compete with the likes of MINI Cooper S, which is also an iconic performance hatchback.
