What could have been better?The Jeep Compass is a firmly established premium compact SUV that carries the legendary Jeep DNA and flaunts a modern design, advanced tech and features and a robust performance. Manufactured in India at Jeep's Pune facility, the Compass is available in multiple variants and special editions, including the recently launched Sandstorm Edition.
Exterior Design
The Jeep Compass’s design elements include the iconic seven-slot grille, muscular wheel arches, sleek LED headlamps, and premium alloy wheels. The Compass’s proportions measure up to 4,405 mm in length and 1,818 mm in width, and the ground clearance measures up to 178 mm.
Step inside the Jeep Compass, and the cabin greets you with premium materials such as plush leather upholstery, ambient mood lighting, and soft-touch surfaces. The tech and comfort features within the Compass include 8-way electronically adjustable, ventilated leather seats with memory function; a dual-pane panoramic sunroof for an airy and premium feel; a 10.1-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; a 10.25-inch customisable digital instrument cluster; wireless charging and multiple USB ports; a 9-speaker Alpine audio system for an immersive sound experience; and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The safety features within the Jeep Compass across the variants include dual front airbags (up to six airbags in higher trims), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, roll mitigation, hill start assist, electronic parking brake, rear parking sensors with reversing camera, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, seat belt reminders, speed-sensing door locks, and a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating for top-end variants. The top variants also feature other safety features like a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, auto hold (with 4x4 AT), and remote keyless entry.
The Jeep Compass is powered by a 2.0-litre Multijet II turbo-diesel engine which generates a power of 170 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The customers receive an option to choose between a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The diesel variants offer an ARAI-certified mileage ranging from 14.9 kmpl (4x4 AT) to 17.1 kmpl (FWD).

54The Jeep Compass Limited 4x4 that I recently purchased has been quite delightable! Driving is simple with the strong 2L diesel engine and seamless 9-speed automated gearbox. One evening I sped across some light off-road paths and the Compass handled it effortlessly. Features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen abound in the roomy cabin. It's ideal for my adventurous way of life; it's elegant, cosy. Not pleased than my buy!
